Hi, Everytime I try and add something to my site it freezes my computer, I have tried on 2 other computers and it does the same. Is there a problem with Yola? Is there anything I can do to prevent this? As I have a business which I can't update at the moment. In fact this message is taking forever thats if it will allow my to complete the whinge.

Hello Steve,

Your concerns are certainly valid. We hope to help you address this. Please can you share your URL with us and we can have a look at how this is behaving for us?Is it happening on a particular page? Can you take us through the steps you take when you encounter the freezing?

Thanks for working with us on this.

Hi

I have only tried to add products so don't know if it completly freezes on other pages, I have only tried to add products to the shopping page, although it is deifinetly very very slow on everything on the site, even when I was trying to write the above question. I don't know what you mean by URL if it's who am I connected with it is Sky. When it freezes I try and close the page at the top it says 'page not responding' and a message comes up that it is closing down and there are a choice of buttons to click if I want to close it immediatly or give it a chance to close itself. I have to click the cross in the corner of page then on this box several time before it will close, then a box comes up 'send error report'. The last time I successfully added a product it took over 30 minutes just to add a picture and description.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi Steve,

When I say URL - I meant your domain (e.g. yoursite.yolasite.com). If you have not yet published your site, please can you email support@yola.com so that we can assist further?

Hi Warren

Thank you for the link to your site.

Our engineers tested the slowness and did not find problems that could cause the slowness. I have looked at the online store on your site and agree with debbym, who has commented on this thread, that the pictures are loading slowly. Not all the pictures are slow to load though, only some of them. It could be that these may be larger and are therefore taking longer to load in the store. We have a tutorial that gives some tips on using pictures that are web-friendly, here: Optimizing the pictures you add to your site.

Another thing I noticed, is that it looks like the online store page has a 3-column layout. This is causing the pictures and text to appear unaligned. You may want to work on changing this or using the Column Widget instead of the page layout you are currently using.

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you need more help with it.

Hi Steve - niceeeeeeee website. We Lancastrians are very enterprising.

FYI and hoping that it will assist the Yola engineers, when I looked at it, the site came up straight awy and all pages were great until I tried to get on the shopping site and the pics took forever to load and the text was all over the shop (no pun intended). I was still watching the first picture finishing loading when my pc crashed - the mem usage on FF (latest version of course, with cache cleared on purpose) went up to over 300k in task manager. It looked like it was the first picture trying to load that was the problem - optimisation problem?

That happened twice.

All the best.
