Just in time for the Olympics Yola proudly introduces its newest hosting package: Yola Gold!

We are excited to offer a package that directly answers the age-old question of “how do I get found online?”

Our new Gold package comes with two of our most powerful new traffic generating features: Local Boost and Traffic Builder. Local Boost includes all the tools you need to submit your website and be added to local search directories like Google Places and Yelp. It includes automatic updates and provides one central place to keep all your business information up-to-date across the web.

Traffic Builder is our powerful new search engine optimization (SEO) performance management tool. The tool includes an easy-to-use site scan that quickly identifies errors and provides suggestions for getting your site a higher search engine rank. Traffic Builder also helps you track keywords important to your site. It points out how you are performing for these keywords and where you can use them more effectively on your site. The higher your website ranks, the more people will see your site when searching.

Why does Traffic Builder take the gold?

  • Traffic Builder allows you to track the search engine performance of your website from your Yola account.

  • It includes an easy-to-use site scan built directly into the Yola Sitebuilder. The scan quickly identifies errors, warnings and optimizations. The generated report provides targeted advice for improving your site’s search engine ranking taking the guesswork out of improving your website for search engines.

  • The site scan includes a detailed breakdown of your current keyword usage allowing you to identify which keywords you use frequently and which ones are missing from your site.

  • Location, location, location! Traffic Builder advises you at to where in your site important keywords are most effectively used. Our smart scoring system also warns when keywords are in danger of being overused.

  • A detailed keyword breakdown provides current traffic volume for each of your keywords, letting you know which terms are being searched for frequently and which ones are hardly used.

  • The Traffic Builder dashboard includes a continuous, automatic monitoring of your site's current search engine ranking for specific keywords relevant to your site.

  • Rankings are tracked and displayed for the three major search engines: Google, Yahoo and Bing and your month-to-month progress is tracked to show you how your ranking has changed.

Meta Keywords haven't been used for approx 10 years by Google for SEO and they aren't used for Bing Yahoo. This has been stated unequivocally by Mat Cutts the snr engineer for Google Webmasters and SEO.

There is no discriminatory power, wrt SEO, of heading types H1 to Hx. This has been disregarded also by the big payers it seems.

Mat has also stated that Google has no preference for SEO'd sites and that a site not rich in SEO should have the same potential as an equivalent with engineered SEO. You kind of get the feeling that he has no time for SEO consultancy. He has stated clearly that it is content, content and content. Quality orginality and interest. Meta descriptions don't play in the game of rankings but add an identity second line in SERPS with Google.

Now if it comes to visibility and advantages of regions then that has an effect on searchers selections.

Honestly I think Matt is telling half truths...For example keywords/phrases....If they don't look at them any longer how is it that they will still penalize a site for keyword stuffing? Regardless of what he says about their secret algorithm there are certain things it MUST take into consideration in order to work. One of them would be keyword significance which can STILL be found in Google Webmaster Tools under Content Keywords ...No wonder SEO gives us all a headache.

In fact its taken from the content.

Google generates it's own keywords for the content and not from the metas as such. It is endeavouring to remain unbiased or rather not affected by the subjectivity of the authors classification of meta-keywords. Like when you read an unfamiliar piece and you interpret the topic(s) and aspects within the piece to understand and summarise.

There are certainly some practices that used to have importance which are now considered meaningless. The meta tag "Keywords" is a great example of that. It quickly became obvious that the tag was easy to abuse and often provided no relevant information to the quality or content of the site.

Yola's Traffic Builder SEO scan completely ignores the meta tag "Keywords" and instead focuses on evaluating how effective your page's content is at sticking to the topics that you consider important to your visitors.

For example, if I want my coffee shop to show up when people search for "iced lattes in San Francisco", it is important that those keywords or search terms ("iced lattes San Francisco") appear on at least one of my pages. The hope is that I might naturally write about how great the lattes that I serve are, and how I offer them both hot and iced at all 3 of my San Francisco locations. Including content like this is
both relevant and important to SEO. Without it, Google has no way of knowing that my site is a great search result for thirsty San Franciscans.

That said, keywords (or search terms, if you prefer) are just the start of it. No one knows exactly how Google's search engine works, it is a closely guarded secret. What isn't a secret is that Google's goal has always been to serve quality, relevant sites to people searching the internet. Our tool helps make sure that your site is seen as both. We never recommend shady or abusive SEO techniques, only tried-and-true suggestions on how to make your site the best it can possibly be. With high quality, relevant content, your site will perform better in search and you will receive more traffic. That much we know for sure!

Yola gold, interest:
Laura, Hello
Now everything sounds great with all in one adding text and going into multiple search results, but is it really cost effective at $21.95 a month to have gold status when I can plug away adding text to all search engines while saving some money. How can I be sure this would be a good online benefit to my struggling business?.no doubt in my mind it sounds good and could sasve me time, I just don't. want to be in something that is just profit and doesn't work for my buiz.
Thank you
Jacob lucas
