yola, is it a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Being a newbie I wanted to ask how many sites I can have in the limits allowed by yola.
After serching through terms and conditions and various other topics I now am wondering what yola actually is.

I was under the impression that yola was a web design and hosting platform but some of the other topics refer to uploading music, and others, videos, and they talk of slow speeds downloading from their sites.
This to me suggests that yola is being used for other purposes on the lines of Rapid Share or MegaUploads albeit that the limit of 15meg files must cause a problem.

Please tell me that yola is not a vehicle for file sharing and is indeed the best web based site builder around.

Hi Woolyback,

Nice to have you with us at Yola.

Most of the low speed downloads are down to users internet connections, nothing to do with Yola.

You can upload music and videos but its far from a file sharing site.

Hope this puts your mind at rest...
check out my site, the real way Yola is used - http://www.hexham.info .

Hi Woolyback

This is an excellent question. Thanks for asking. Yola is a site building and hosting platform. We are certainly not a file sharing service.

Please note the following from our Terms of Service:

"You may not upload, publish, post, distribute or disseminate any third party files and or content that contain material, in any form, protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy and/or publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents. You may not post private individual or company information without the expressed permission of such parties."

While some people to host music or videos on their sites, they need to own the copyright or have permission to share this content. For example a musician can use his/her site to showcase his/her own creations. In addition you can embed YouTube videos on your site, provided they are in the public domain, or from your own account. The same applies to images, text or any other intellectual property.

As with any service Yola is open to abuse. However, we take the violation of our terms of service very seriously. If you aware of anyone who is abusing our free site builder and hosting platform, please report it here: http://www.yola.com/report-abuse

Nothing to fear here Woolyback,

I've been with Yola for over a year now and have built quite a few sites with them.
From support to speed you have nothing to fear - Yola is truly the best web based site builder around. More like a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Mmm...a "sheep in wolf's clothing"...Why does that sound so strange to me now?
I think you know what I mean though. Just look at all the green hearts in the forum.

Yola has given me the opportunity to build some (what I think) great looking sites.
A year ago I knew nothing about website building. Being involved in the forum has helped me a great deal to speed up the learning curve. I believe, the more you give the more you receive. And hey....what's not to love about Yola?

Woolyback....A lot of us here enjoy helping others and most of us are just like Boomer in that we knew nothing of site building when we started using Yola. For me,helping out here is a way to give back a little for the use of a free site builder and unlimited hosting for my shopping site....I have even made some awesome friends from all over the globe. So when you come to this forum you have walked in on something that is just as much a community of friends as it is a customer service forum.

Hi John
I just had a look at your site and wonder where your inspiration for the design came from. I love the background that 'Thai's' in with the subject matter.
Web designer, artist, poet, musician, is there no end to your talents?
