Hi Arno,

We are currently experiencing a technical problem which requires us to disable publishing for a short time. This will not affect your published site or your ability to login to the site builder and work on your site; you are just not able to update or publish at this time.

Our engineers are working very hard to solve the issue. You can keep updated on this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/yola/topic...

Hi There,

Yola publishing has now been restored. You can go ahead and publish or update your sites. As always, while we have done our very best to ensure that everything is in order, we will be continuing to monitor the situation very closely for some time to come.

If you still get the message that publishing is disabled, please refresh your browser or clear your cache. After doing this, if there are any issues with the publishing of your sites, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you all for your tremendous patience and understanding during this long and difficult problem. We take full responsibility for the error that lead to this and will take it all as a lesson for how we can do better in future.

We are very fortunate to have such wonderfully supportive customers!

I think there's still a problem publishing. I created a site a few minutes ago when publishing was disabled and now when I try to publish it, the publishing window asks for a name for the site. When I enter the name it says the name not available, even though I am able to open the site and edit it. It's not recognizing me as the owner of the site.

Hi Bill. Had you previously published your site, or are you attempting to publish for the first time now? Please let me know as this will be important information which will help us understand what you are experiencing.

I was publishing it for the first time, but when I created it, I had to name the site and at that time publishing was disabled. Now publishing is enabled, but it's asking me to name the site when I publish even though it is named. When I enter the name, it tells me the name is not available (but it was available when I created it)

Hi Bill,
Is this happening when you try to enter a subdomain choice? Can you tell me the steps you are taking before you get the response that the name is not available.

Yes, when I choose a subdomain. I log into the site I created earlier, select publish, Select "Use a free domain", enter the name (same as the site I am logged into), check availability and it tells me the name is taken.

That might mean that the subdomain choice is all ready in use by another website. Is this the first time you are trying to publish your site? What is the subdomain you are trying to publish to?

The site name was available when I created the site. The time between my creating it and publishing is about an hour. Yes, it's the first time. Is there a way I can give you the subdomain without making it public here in the forum??

When you choose a name for your site when you first start the site, that name isn't then reserved for a subdomian; it is just the name of the site. If you would like to email support@yola.com and tell me the subdomain you are using I can check to see if it is in use. Please put Attn: Emmy.
