Hi deilytech,

I am sorry you are unhappy, and I understand it is frustrating. However, I do have some good news for you!

Although we have removed the "download site" feature from Yola, we have kept a way that you can still download your site. Please note though, that we are unable to ensure that downloaded sites will work in other hosting environments. Here are the steps to download your site:

1. Load the Sitebuilder of the site you would like to download.
2. Paste the following snippet into the URL bar (erasing what is already there):

javascript:void((new ide.requests.actions.downloadSite()).send({site:ide.user.getSite()}))

Please make sure there is a space between "new" and "ide" (it sometimes gets removed in the email). Once you hit "Enter" your site will start to download to your computer.

You can still use your own domain for publishing, if you have a Yola Silver account. You also have the option to purchase a domain from us or transfer your existing domain to us. If you currently have a domain pointed to Yola, that domain will remain pointed free of charge indefinitely provided you do not unpublish your site. I recommend reading this blogpost for details about why this was changed: http://www.yola.com/blog/changes-to-f....

We'd like to make sure your Yola continues to work for you, so let us know if you have any other questions.

It sure would be considerate to offer the option of using your own registrar [specially when you already have email with that registrar inclusive in the domain], it would be fair to at least offer this option to use your preferred registrar for a reasonable fee outside of Yola Silver specially for those of us that wish to create small websites and find Yola Silver too expensive.
It is a bit controlling to "force" someone to transfer registration to Yola.
