When a browser not running javascript views my Yola Online Store (ecwid powered store) it says that javascript is disabled and to view the HTML version of Mark Whitehouse's store?? How do i replace this to view the html version of my store, it is the correct link just someone else's store name instead of mine. Could you please tell me how I can remove this, I have tried entering my own html for the same thing but it is just shown with this message.

Hi David,

Can you tell me if it is just the title that is wrong or are the contents from another store as well?

Can you go to the Online Store→Advanced Options→System Settings→General→Store Profile.

Have a look at the "Store Name" and check that this is what you expect. This is the point that it takes the heading for other relevant sections such as the name associated with the HTML version.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply, that was the first thing I checked and everything is fine on the profile. It is just the name that is wrong.

That's weird to say the obvious David. It's also disturbing without an explanation.

David, do you know how to use Firebug or similar? I would have a look at that heading using the Inspect feature and just see where it's pulling it from, if it in fact can get down that deep..

If you want me to have a look tell me the page URL and I can do the same from afar. The site would need to be published and the page apparent. I'm happy to do that.

Hello David,

I think I've found the instance of the statement. I had a look at your page source on http://www.dbramallantiques.co.uk/ite.... This is the code that I came across, which is the store installation code(s):

<div>

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://app.ecwid.com/script.js?1134166" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

var view = "";

switch ("grid"){
default:
case "grid":
var grid = Math.ceil(parseInt(20)/3);
view = "grid("+grid+",3)";
break;
case "list":
view = "list("+20+")";
break;
case "table":
view = "table("+20+")";
break;
}

if(xProductBrowser){
xProductBrowser("categoriesPerRow=3","views="+view+"","categoryView=grid","searchView=list","style=",'defaultCategoryId=0');
}

</script>
<noscript>Your browser does not support JavaScript. Please proceed to <a href="https://app.ecwid.com/jsp/1134166/catalog">HTML version of Mark Whitehouse's store</a></noscript>

</div>

This is actually hardwired and fortunately not pulling it from another place. I'm thinking that you copied this custom code from Ecwid Forum, KB or similar and it has the persons name embedded rather than a generic style copy which is reasonable to presume. Anyhow you can simply change the name by going into that HTML widget.

I noticed that your Google Analytics code is showing. Yola have a specific place for this code which eliminates this issue.

Hi Gop,

Thanks for you help, I actually installed Ecwid using Yola's online store widget so I cannot directly edit the HTML of it. The only change I made to the store was to remove the SKU from display and centralise the product title which was done through the CSS, which doesnt affect the HTML and it doesn't seem to have been any of this that has caused this message.

This might be of use to you but I have just searched for this message in google and some other Yola stores appear to be showing the same message when javascript is disabled. Could this be something that has been coded into the store widget? Even more strange is I have just searched for somebody called Mark Whitehouse on google to see where it came from and he is actually showing as a Web UI Engineer for Yola??

I am glad you like my items, thankyou ever so much :-)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the update. I see then it seems that the installer developers left a little of their development code sitting there and it only is seen when javascript is disabled.

I think that Yola engineers will need to take this out as it is probably a potential error on everyone's Store. Thanks for the report Dave. I think they will follow up here shortly.

Hi Gop,

I have the same problem with Dave.
Has it been fixed yet? Or is there any workaround?

I don't want to show this message in my online store, as it seems un-professional

Thank you!

Has it been fixed yet, as my store about to be opened in 2 days time.

If it hasn't, please let me know of any workaround on this issue.

Hello Baby Bunny

I'm afraid it hasn't been fixed yet, but it's on our engineers' list.

Most people have enabled Javascript in their browsers because there are a lot of websites that can only be properly viewed using Javascript. A workaround would be to recommend your visitors to enable Javascript, giving this information on your website.

We will update you on this thread as soon as there are any news. Thank you for your patience.
