Yola Staff Don't Know Whats Going On With Deals Or Discounts
1 Staff Member Says They Are No Discounts ,
Another 1 Says They'res 20% New Customers
And Another 1 Says 30% OFF

So Yola Not Being Mean , But Concerned ,
Make Up Your Mind . =(
I Was Going To Buy The Silver Package , But Ye Haven't A Clue On The Deals , Each Member Of Staff Are Saying Different Things.

Its Really Annoying To Future Customers If You Don't Know Whats Going On .

Hi James. There is a discount only for new members. If you have been a member for a while now you wont have a notice about a discount.

Hi James. A little more information would be helpful. If you could post a link to the threads you are referring to I could clear things up. We are familiar with the sales and promotions we are running at this time, but there could easily be outdated information in the forum that relates to promotions run in the past, or times when no promotions were running. This doesn't mean that our staff are uninformed, it could just be that you are reading historical posts. That is the nature of doing support online - information changes all the time at it is quite possible that you came across something relating to a previous promotion.

Many people have been confused by the pricing of the Silver package and it's because of the interspersed listings as well as that seen on signing in and generalised offerings if you have helped with a bug issue. It's a lot to pull in and of course not easy to find on review.

James has his info within his history file you can see it by tracing his forum hits, and his interpretation is quite reasonable. I think that a pricing page for deals and discounts for Yola Silver would clear up this confusion.

When a promotion comes along then direct us to the pricing page with bells and whistles. Have it all on a definitive page so that we are tasting the same apples.

Excellent suggestion, petercsea! Use links to information on the Yola site, instead of current pricing.

If the posting dates here used actual dates, instead of a time period, it would eliminate a lot of this confusion. I have voted for it at the Get Satisfaction forum, but it doesn't sound likely.

Hi James,

I doubt that different staff give different deals. They'd be sacked!
What is happening is that various staff may announce the deals as they are released.

Discounts are a fact of life and how the world goes round. Not invented by Yola at all. The real issue is the notification I agree. Not the fact of various discounts.

Hi James,

We certainly understand your confusion and appreciate everyone's feedback regarding how we can streamline our promotional offers going forward. We will certainly take your suggestions into consideration.

In the meantime I'm happy to try to eliminate the confusion. The forum thread you linked to referring to 30% off is actually 35% off and the offer is available to existing users who have already purchased a custom domain from us. Thus, if you buy a domain for $19.95 and then decide later within that year that you would like to upgrade to Yola Silver, you can do so for $34.95, a 35% savings. It's a pretty sweet deal too as you still get a domain credit for your choice of a new domain or to renew your existing domain.

The other discount you saw mention of was the 20% off promotion code running in the Sitebuilder. This was targeted to new users which is why some people saw it while others did not.

If you are still in any way confused by our offerings please feel free to let us know.

Yes , To Make If Fair For Everyone , You Should Post Discounts On The Homepage So Everyone Can Have A Option , Not Only A Selected Few.
My Point Is You Should Allow Everyone To See The Promotions And Discounts , And Not A Selected Few .

Hi James,

We appreciate your point of view, but we want to be open and honest with you and let you know that we are not likely to modify our marketing strategy at this time. We feel it's important for our business growth and success to advertise promotions to our target market.

This is common industry practice and is in no way meant to feel unfair, rather it is meant to reach the right customers, at the right time, with the right message to help grow our business.

I am sure you can expect promotions that will be available to you in the future.

Laura is EXACTLY right and it is that way pretty much in any industry....It is a VERY common business practice to offer up discounts to select groups....Happens every day..Companies offer up special pricing to lure new customers....The same companies will also offer up special deals to longtime customers from time to time that newer customers don't get.
