Hi All

I am sorry to tell you that we that we are experiencing networking problems with an upstream service provider. Currently our website, sitebuilder and published sites are all affected.

We have contacted our provider and will update this thread as soon as we have any further information.

We are taking this situation very seriously and hope to resolve it as quickly as possible.

I was very upset to find my website was down when I went to make some minor changes. The website is for my business and I bought my domain through Yola, so I need the website to be accessible.

I'm glad to hear you guys are already working on getting the problem resolved though. I've never had a problem with Yola and I've been using you guys since it was Synthasite. Keep us updated!

is there a problem with Yola i can get any of my 5 sites to display, just says internet fault. other sites (non yola) all coming up

my site, , micron.yolasite.com , won't come up when I visit it. It has been working fine forthe last few months but now i wont load. A screen comes up that says Internet Explorer cannot find the page.

I have posted about this before but I am doing so again for those that may not know about DOS attacks.

A DOS attack is not a simple matter and is almost never just some hacker with too much time....Most are considered cyber terror attacks and often times in the USA Homeland Security and the FBI get involved...Most of these attacks originate in countries where the attack is either sanctioned by or ran by their government.The goal is to do anything to harm commerce in other countries.

Wow this really sucks. I just recently opened my online store http://www.TranceHerbals.com and am starting to get a lot of business. I hope my customers don't get disappointed with waiting and order elsewhere. Damn hackers... nothing better to do.

SO Murphy's Law!! I just advertised my website THIS WEEKEND in the paper! Grraarrgghgghghg!!! And a this morning (guess it was working then) one of my brothers found my website and posted it on FB telling all our friends and family to check it out! So, not only embarrassment on a public/business level, but way to look like an a$$ in front of my whole family. *sigh* Such is life..

We've been with Yola 2 years and this is 2nd major incident that cost us lots of money. The first was when our local Telco blacklisted Yola domains over weekend and we were down three days! You can be assured Yola will be working full steam to rectify and I am sure they will work with the service provider to make things more robust from future DOS attacks. There are anti-DOS systems that can be purchased to stop this sort of thing, This is a new ground breaking service folks - things will go wrong but what matters is how the company responds and whether they put proactive systems in place to avoid the problems again in the future. We are not at the stage of thinking of moving from them and besides - when the service is free you cant be complaining too much ;-)

You nailed it - we are absolutely working to get the sites back up (as is our service provider). Unfortunately this is just one of those things that can happen, I have worked at very very large companies, and very very small companies, and they've all been taken down by a DDOS at one time or another.

Things will be up and running again as soon as humanly possible, we apologize for the inconvenience!!

I remember that horrible week end very well indeed. Glad that one is behind us and we hope this one will be soon. We have invested in anti-DoS measures, but this one is a huge attack that managed to get through the firewalls. I am sure we will get an analysis of why they failed once this is over and we will look into ways to make our infrastructure even more robust.

I received notice from my advertisers that they are suspending their ads.
Not trying to bug... but I thought things were coming back online an hour ago??????

Hi All

About an hour ago our hosting provider was able to overcome the attack against yola.com (our website) and our sitebuilder. However, they are still working on the attack against our hosted sites. Please rest assured that no data on your websites is affected. Once this is over they will all be back to normal.

We do have a time estimate of about 20 minutes to resolution, but please keep in mind that this is just the best guess we have. Not a guarantee. We will update this thread as soon as there is any further information.

And no sooner did I post the above than I got the news that we were back up! We will continue to watch our sites closely, but for now it looks good.

Now the lovely dalmations can be happy again!

We sincerely apologize to all our customers for the impact on their businesses and will of course do all in our power to prevent this from happening again.
