Hello Stewart Scott

All your hard work has certainly paid off. I was immediately drawn into your site. The template you have chosen works beautifully with the purpose of your site. I also very much enjoy the images you have elected to put on your homepage.

Here are a few minor suggestions:

1. The "Welcome" on your homepage is so tiny and hard to see. I would advise that you make the font bigger and maybe darken it up slightly.

2. Galleries Page
a. I wonder if instead of using text links, you could make image links instead? This would help to bring in some visual aspect to your page and really showcase your products. For example, for your "landscape" text, find a picture of a landscape to replace the text. To make it a link, you would do the same as you did for your text - just be sure to select the image first. I would also use a text widget to implement this so that you can still write the name "Landscape" under the picture to help identify what the link is for.

b. On the right-hand side, regarding your shipping category, I noticed that your text is different than that of the "hanging kits". I would make the text the same size and font to help carry that consistency.

c. On your "Conditions" page - I suggest that you change the color of the font. It is very hard to read. Maybe try going for a darker grey?

You have done a wonderful job in creating your site, making it easy to navigate and understand. Please do understand that my comments are merely suggestions. You need to do what is best for you and your site. I wish you every success with this venture of yours!

Hi,
Really nice looking site.

I'll just get straight to the points i noticed:

1. The image running down the left side of your home page is still a really large file its just been resized on the page - If you find the file in your 'file manager' then right clcik it and 'edit in picnik' -- resize it in picnik to the size it shows on the screen now, save it back and you will notice the page loads much quicker.

2. the favicon is a relativly large image try this link to convert it into a .ico - you will notice it looks better - http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ + its only on the home page - add it to all pages.

3. your keywords are great - you could improve the window titles - try and describe the page.

4. Your photographs are stunning - did you take these? - Your find a photographer page - is this in your area or worldwide, if i was thinking of adding myself i would like this to be a little more clear.

Great site - the work is really paying off. Just a short way from perfection - well done.

PS the image i refer to in 1) --- the dimensions are 827px × 4,227px (scaled to 127px × 649px) So when you go into picnk and resize it make it 127x649 - you wont notice any differnece on page except it loads much quicker

Hello Stewart,

What a beautiful website. Your work and dedication really shines in your creation.

For people like me we look at artistic creations like this and simply wish. It's so nice to be able to enjoy the great work of others.

Your navigation is clear and simple. I was particularly impressed with the quality of your images in your shop. There is no question what the items are. Probably the best I've seen in this regard.

(There is a very small oversight or glitch in your links page. First item. The bolding style is incomplete. )

Your typography is stunningly natural. It all fits in space and place.

Your style selection and background was created for this project.

This is one of the best sites created with Yola that I have seen.

Thank you.

You are all very kind - I appreciate your comments tremendously. I still have a lot of plans for the site however the business model is in place and the foundations are laid.

I cant praise Yola enough for the help and support they have given me over the last few months I truly am grateful and I wish them every success in the future. I know that I shall do my bit to repay them by recommending it to anyone wanting an online presence.

The images on the site are a collaboration of many artists work, including my own - I go under the name Art Ben Co - Stew(art) (Ben) S(co)tt its a sort of artist alias. I am now in the midst of drawing up plans to create my own personal website through Yola that will act as a gallery for my own images which I am looking forward to doing as I don not think it will be a as demanding as RWOC.

Anyway I want to thank you all for your comments - especially littleus who recommended that I use images as links to the galleries - interesting!

Many thanks

Stewart

Hi

That's a nice site Duke, I like the image rotation you spoke about, very nice indeed. I may need your assistance in creating something similar as I do believe in first impressions being important.

I have made some changes to the gallery section of my website (http://realworldoncanvas.com/gallerie...) as advised by Littleus - I am very pleased with the result. What was I thinking just having text? Anyway thank you Littleus - a great improvement!

Thanks
Stewart

I used Photoshop, I was able to take a screen shot of the background to my website. I then opened my image jpg and copied it over the background layer. Using the erase tool on a low opacity with a soft brush I managed to get rid of any hard edges. I then cleaned things up with the smudge tool. Once this was completed I saved it and uploaded it to Yola, from here I edited it using Picnic. Any cropping was done here and I also added the text. I hope this helps inspire you as much as it did me.

you designers make me sick. It looks amazing well done. The best thing ive ever drawn was a stick man smoking :)

Remember to look at those home page images - file size is very important.
What i forgot to tell you yesterday was that you may not notice its so much because your site will be cached in your browser.

I'm jealous. Lee.

Duke - I seem to be having problems reducing the sizes of the images in question. They seem to appear blurred every time I reduce them any suggestions?

you could try going straight to picnik.com and when you choose to save you get the option of improving the quality -- i would hav thought when the image was its true scale it should look better.

Maybe a image perosn will now more about this - i just know the file size of the large image was too big.

Try go staright to picnik.com and choose level 10 when you save.,
