Youtube widget and line-spacing issue

I cannot get the Youtube widget to load in my page; how do I get this solved? ..... Also, how can I adjust the spacing of lines in text boxes? When it's on "huge", the lines are crowded together, and often drop "widows" (the final word or two in a line drops down as a separate line).

Hi James,

There is a problem with the YT widget - should be fixed soon.

As for your line heights...

if you add this to the page it will effect ALL the text widgets line heights.

If you want to change a specific box leave a link to the page here and I will amend the code for you.

sys_txt {line-height: 40px;}

NOTE: change the height (40)px to any number you like.

Lee.

Hello, Lee -

Thank you - that is much more helpful than the response from the employee (who didn't even answer my second question).

Yes, could you kindly give me a code that enables me to change specific text boxes? And where do I insert the code?

Finally, since you seem to be knowledgeable, would you know why Yola pages often take a very long time to load, and sometimes do not load at all? It's not my computer or the internet connection - everything else is lightning-fast.

Thanks again,

James

No problem James,

You see the code above changes all the styles for everything with a class .sys_txt (which is all the text widgets) However each text widget has an individual id which you can control individually.
Problem is because they are individual I don't know what they are till I see them.

If you like link it here and I will do it for you.

OR

there is (like always) a work around....

If you click the html editor of the text widget and look for the p tags <!--(<p>)--> you can change them to look like this <!--(<p style="line-height: 40px;">)-->

What your actually doing is putting the CSS 'inline' The above will result in the whole paragraph having 40px line height.

PS. About the slowness. The editor is such a huge program it takes a little bit longer than a average web page to load - as long as your site loads fast that's the main thing. You can't compare it to a web pages loading speed as it's doing so much work.

And you have to admit it does do a great job, and for every second you wait your saving hours of coding time :)

Thank you! I'm having trouble expressing my gratitude - the Yola site seems to think simple thanks somehow is profanity.

Dear Laura Thomas or UK Duke -

1) As noted above, my attempt to express thanks to UK Duke had to be reworded several times because your website kept accusing me of using profanity. I am a pastor, and I DO NOT USE PROFANITY, and I don't like being accused of it, even by a computer. It was finally when I deleted UK Duke's name L E E (minus the spaces) that your computer stopped accusing me of profanity!

2) I am now getting, on two pages on my site, the following message:

[Exclamation point in a yellow triangle]
Invalid widget id 'I183'. Cannot find component HTML

This message does not go away no matter how many times I click the X in the corner or the "Accept" button. Moreover, it renders the internet completely unuseable, and I have to close out of the Internet completely and open up the Internet again.

I don't think the problem is the HTML coding that UK Duke suggested, since I put that on all of my pages, and the other pages seem to be working fine. It's only on my pages titled "Kindle Novels" and "Kindle Stories and Poetry" - at least so far as I can tell. I can't give you the direct links for the problematic pages for the obvious reason.

Please fix this problem, since I cannot.

3) The HTML coding that UK duke gave to me seems to work at the beginning (top) of the pages, but farther down the pages it doesn't seem to work. Maybe I misunderstood him/her, but I thought he/she was saying that this coding would affect the entire page, not just one text box.

4) As noted above, your staff only responded to one of my questions. Maybe staff could be reminded to read the entire letter that your customers take the time to write, and not just respond to the first thing they see and neglect to see what other issues are being raised. Thank you.

Thanks again,

JDA

Additional information:

First, your site freezes, and I get a message that "Sitebuilder" is being added to the site, and that I should click the "accept" button to save my page and Sitebuilder will automatically be added (or words to this effect).

After I click "accept", 1) I get the "Invalid widget id 'I183'. Cannot find component HTML" message mentioned above, and 2) my internet connection completely freezes, and I have to go into Windows Help to close the internet and then restart it.

As a result of this problem, I have three or four times now tried to set up my "Music" page, only to lose the work of an hour or two each time. To be honest, the problems with your site are getting quite frustrating.

P.S. Again your site is accusing me of using profanity in this message, which means I have to try to reword my message repeatedly, wasting more time, until your computer stops accusing me of profanity.

Hi, James,

1) The profanity filter is a question for Get Satisfaction. You can post on their forum and see what they can tell you as far as the filters they have in place.

2) I'm sorry this is frustrating for you. I did see that you have copied and pasted text from MS Word on your site. MS Word has hidden code which can create havoc with your site such as you are seeing with the Invalid Widget error, freezing, etc. The MS Word will need to be removed. You can copy from MS Word and paste to Notepad (Text Edit on Mac) and then copy from Notepad and paste into your site. I realize that you cannot open your pages right now to do that. Please press ESC until the Invalid Widget error goes away or try changing the Layout to 3 columns over 1--this will sometimes get you into the Sitebuilder. If neither of these methods works, please send an email to my attention at Support@yola.com and I will see if I can fix this for you.

3) I am not quite sure about the code that UK Duke gave you. Perhaps he can elaborate. However, it seems to me that the code requires a style tag. So it should look like this:

<style type="text/css">

sys_txt {line-height: 40px;}

</style>

This should make it work for the entire page.

4) I am not seeing in the thread above where a staff member missed a question? Is that in this thread or a different one? We certainly strive to be as thorough as possible but things do get missed. I hope I have been able to answer your questions to your satisfaction.

Do please let us know if the two methods to get into your site do not work for you.

Hi Diane,

How are you?

The forum ate my code - It nabbed the style tags and the full stop from the start of the class rule.

The topic kind of switched posts to here - http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/why...

All sorted.
